Doug Haman Named Fraternity COO
Clint McCurry has accepted position with Edward Jones
Clinton McCurry, Delta '01 (Emporia State University), who has served Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity since May 2006 as its chief operation officer, will begin a new position with Edward Jones, on December 1, 2008.
McCurry holds an MBA from Emporia State University in Finance. "My long-term career goal has always been to become a financial advisor," McCurry said in his letter or resignation. Edward Jones is a New York Stock Exchange member firm with headquarters in St. Louis, MO and offices nationwide.
Executive Vice President Bill Bernier praised McCurry for his extraordinary service to Sigma Tau Gamma. "Clint joined our staff in 2004, immediately after earning his MBA. Over the course of four years, part of which was as a volunteer, he has given us excellent leadership which has contributed to membership growth and improved risk management."
Douglas Haman, Delta Rho '95 (Miami University), will become the Fraternity's COO on December 1, 2008. "We are truly fortunate to have such a dedicated and qualified brother to step into the Fraternity's COO role," said Bill Bernier.
Haman is an attorney licensed to practice in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. He served the Fraternity as a member of the Board of Directors (2006-2008), Vice President of Intellectual Property and Legal Advisor (2002-2006), Delta Rho Chapter alumni advisor (1995-present), and Delta Rho Chapter president (1993-1995).
In his new position, Doug will have the title General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer. He will begin his duties on a part time basis on December 1, then move to full time on December 15. Doug will manage chapter services, the involvement of our network of alumni volunteer leaders, the implementation of the Path of Principles and McCune Metrics programs, and risk management issues. He will also assist the Executive Vice President with contract and other legal issues.
"Sigma Tau Gamma is benefiting from improved membership recruitment this semester, while adding interest groups at four new campuses. Our chapters have improved their risk management practices, which have contributed to stabilization in liability insurance costs. We are most fortunate to have excellent alumni leaders like Clint McCurry and Doug Haman serve Sigma Tau Gamma," said Bill Bernier.
