Fills Trustee Vacancy
Randy Speer, Delta Gamma '77 is newest
Foundation Trustee
Randall G. Speer, Delta Gamma '77 (University of Texas) was
appointed to fill the unexpired term of Tom Morgan on the Sigma Tau Gamma
Foundation, Inc., Board of Trustees it was announced today. Morgan was elected
to the Fraternity Board of Directors at the 43rd Grand Chapter in August,
thereby creating the vacancy.
"Randy Speer was a natural choice because of his
long-standing volunteer service and generous financial support," said
Foundation President Michael Schermer. "We are pleased and grateful that Randy
has agreed to serve in this important leadership role."
Brother Speer has served Sigma Tau Gamma as a chapter
advisor and district governor (now district director) and received the
Outstanding District Governor Award in 1983. He has also served as a
Sergeant-at-Arms at numerous Grand Chapter meetings. He is a Prominent Morris Fellow in the Wilson
C. Morris Fellowship, the honor society of Foundation donors. He is also a
member of the Hembree Guild, which recognizes those who have made planned gifts
to the Foundation.
The Foundation was established in 1966 by the 22nd Grand
Chapter to support the citizenship, leadership and educational missions of
Sigma Tau Gamma. It is governed by a volunteer board of 18 Trustees.
