Speer Fills Trustee Vacancy

Randy Speer, Delta Gamma '77 is newest Foundation Trustee

Randall G. Speer, Delta Gamma '77 (University of Texas) was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Tom Morgan on the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation, Inc., Board of Trustees it was announced today. Morgan was elected to the Fraternity Board of Directors at the 43rd Grand Chapter in August, thereby creating the vacancy.

"Randy Speer was a natural choice because of his long-standing volunteer service and generous financial support," said Foundation President Michael Schermer. "We are pleased and grateful that Randy has agreed to serve in this important leadership role."

Brother Speer has served Sigma Tau Gamma as a chapter advisor and district governor (now district director) and received the Outstanding District Governor Award in 1983. He has also served as a Sergeant-at-Arms at numerous Grand Chapter meetings.  He is a Prominent Morris Fellow in the Wilson C. Morris Fellowship, the honor society of Foundation donors. He is also a member of the Hembree Guild, which recognizes those who have made planned gifts to the Foundation.

The Foundation was established in 1966 by the 22nd Grand Chapter to support the citizenship, leadership and educational missions of Sigma Tau Gamma. It is governed by a volunteer board of 18 Trustees.
